We are an international art gallery located in 798 area of Beijing with unique environment and ambience. We are currently looking for interns for at least 3-6 month period to bring new ideas and new concepts to the gallery. We need people motivated to learn about the contemporary art and the art market; mainly Chinese and French art but not exclusively, as there are different kinds of art pieces on site.

Job description

  • Greet and assist visitors to the Gallery.

  • Assist with preparations for gallery exhibitions, including taking down and sorting out the works from prior exhibitions, sorting new artworks for display, assisting with the artworks currently on display, cleaning the Gallery and other preparation tasks as requested.

  • Handle sales and answer questions about the Gallery and its artworks.

  • Assist with sponsorship solicitations.

  • Work with the Gallery Coordinator for all graphic design needs within the Gallery including signage, graphic displays, advertisements and special event invitations.

  • Distribute press releases for gallery exhibitions.

  • Work with the vendors/staff to set prices for products for sale in Gallery.

  • Perform other duties in supporting the organization.

     

Requirements

  • Some experience in art gallery is preferred, but it is more important to be motivated to learn about the Chinese market and adapt to the Chinese culture, be curious about art, be open-minded, motivated and independent.

  • Good level of English (French and Chinese are a plus).

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet.

  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication, administrative and customer service skills and driving passion for the arts.

    Working time: 30 hours a week.
